In the award-winning documentary Children Full of Life, a fourth-grade class in a primary school in Kanazawa, northwest of Tokyo, learn lessons about compassion from their homeroom teacher, Toshiro Kanamori. He instructs each to write their true inner feelings in a letter, and read it aloud in front of the class. By sharing their lives, the children begin to realize the importance of caring for their classmates
To say that Kanamori has a special way with children is an understatement, and to watch him impart wisdom on his students through the life lessons he teaches is a powerful learning experience not be missed.
On the first day of school, Kanamori tells the children that the most important thing they will learn in school that year is how to be happy. He says:  “We only have one life so let’s really enjoy it, OK?” But in order to live a full life, his students need to learn how to understand others, and to make themselves understood. To that end, Kanamori asks them to keep a daily journal called a notebook in which they write their innermost thoughts and feelings. Reading these notebooks aloud to their classmates becomes a ritual during which the children perfect the art of sharing powerful emotions, and learn the values of empathy, compassion, and trust.

It is a 2003 Swedish documentary film on consumerism and globalization, created by director Erik Gandini and editor Johan Söderberg. It looks at the arguments for capitalism and technology, such as greater efficiency, more time and less work, and argues that these are not being fulfilled, and they never will be. The film leans towards anarcho-primitivist ideology and argues for 'a simple and fulfilling life'.
